I have made ice cream enough times to break even on the cost of the ice cream maker.

Lychee Oatmilk Sherbet

Lychee flavor was strong, but it wasn’t very creamy due to low fat of oatmilk. Was a bit too sweet. I would cut down on sugar and use milk. Didn’t have milk at the time.

Cold Brew Coffee Can Ice Cream

I didn’t want to open a new package of coffee beans, so I used canned coffee. It worked well. Nice color and good coffee taste.

Trader Joe Matcha Ice Cream

I didn’t have any real matcha powder. Matcha is the third ingredient in Trader Joe Matcha Latte powder. Weak green tea taste. It was an aftertaste due to high fat content. Next time I would use real matcha. Fine with high fat content leading to matcha flavor sneaking up on you.

Cold Brew Ice Cream with Chocolate Chips

Used beans this time. Color was more like vanilla. Flavor and coffee notes were present. I think I like canned coffee better. Crushed chocolate chips were a nice addition. More texture and flavor.

Peach Sherbet

Peach flavor was not strong in the base. I used two peaches. Wonder if using canned peaches or really ripe peaches would help. I think I over churned it since it expanded and got airy.

Strawberry Sherbet

Forzen Costco strawberries. It is okay, I think if I follwed the recipe and used creme fraise, it would be better.

Real Matcha Ice Cream

Tastes better, need to prefix the matcha with a whisk before incorporating, so it hydrates fully and doesn’t clump up.

French Vanilla Custard Ice Cream

Gold standard. Used Costco vanilla beans. Stock up whenever I see them. Go to recipe that I make most of the time. One container of vanilla and one container of another flavor most of the time.
