Book of the Week: The Bootstrapper's Bible

This week I read the pdf version of the The Bootstrapper’s Bible by Seth Godin. It was a quick and “free for two weeks until December 30th”. Note that it is April 5th 2014 today.

They say you can’t hire nine women to work really hard as a team and product one baby in one month. Teamwork doesn’t always make things faster — it can even slow them down. - Seth Godin

This quote reminds me of The Mythical Man-Month. The team has to be focused and agile. Having a small doesn’t mean you can’t get things done. I think I have been reading too many business books about starting companies. They all seem the same after a point. Bootstrapping is about structuring your business, such that you can leverage one success into another. He does give a lot of tips on managing cash flow. Those tips alone were worth the read. Less reading, more doing.
